Groenland records are releasing another Broadcast 2000 single in the wake of the success of ‘Get up and go‘. The track is called ‘Run’ and will be available via download only (listen to the track on the Broadcast 2000 myspace). I was asked to produce the artwork for the single - here it is:

left with pictures - secretly ep artwork

Organ Grinder records are releasing the new Left With Pictures EP (titled “Secretly”) in August and here is the artwork I provided for the CD. Very few people I know continue to buy CDs now so I’ve also tried to design an original and interesting package. If it all works well, I’ll post some pictures of the final product here - hopefully it’ll be a nice ‘thing’ that people just want to own. I’m convinced (but may be alone in this) that the success of downloads and torrent sites shouldn’t mean the death of CDs/Vinyl… it just means that the artwork has to try harder to convince the punter to part with their cash. Anyway, here’s the cover of the EP:

Finally, a poster idea:

Thoughts? Criticism? Unending praise?

Here’s an illustration and flyer I recently produced for a band calling themselves Plug. Can’t recommend them enough so make sure you get down to the Lock Tavern this Thursday. They have a myspace with a couple of tracks but they really must be seen live…

illustrated london noise

I will be doing a short half hour DJ set tomorrow (Friday 26th October) at the Illustrated London Noise event - part of the Comica festival. I’ll have an early go at playing other people’s music before leaving it to the professionals. Later in the evening I’ll be sketching people in the bar and giving the results away should people want them. The folks behing Le Gun magazine will also be doing animations and murals throughout. It starts at 8pm and is £4 to get in. Below is the image I drew for the flyer, followed by the final flyer (by the organisers of the event) with all the crucial information I neglected to mention…

Here’s some artwork I recently finished for the forthcoming debut EP of Broadcast 2000. You can hear his music here and here. The following images constitute the cover, back cover, and tracklisting - although I would imagine this is all rather obvious. The packaging of the cd was also my design - as soon as it’s back from the printers, i’ll post an image of it here.

locked in the cellar flyer

Flyer for the Locked in the Cellar night organised by members of Left With Pictures. I ended up spending around five hours drawing ridiculously bad sketches of the bands/audience members which were given away free at the end of the night. If you own one of those sketches - please do the world of art a favour and burn it. Now. Right now.

Various flyers for a band called The Fontanelles (which is a reference to a baby’s skull I think… I’m not totally sure).
