Fifty. Five zero. Halfway. Every page I do from this point is over halfway.

This strikes me as a good time to reflect on the pledge and how I feel it’s been a positive thing.
Because it has. Regardless of the content and quality of the comics – the important thing here is that I’ve been drawing.
Every.
Single.
Day.
Making sure I’m thinking about composition, panel layout, and timing… Developing a style that I can work in quickly but which doesn’t immediately make me cringe… All of this has been really important. And it’s been really important to do it every day.
No matter how ill, hungover, tired, stressed or just plain grumpy I’ve felt – I’ve drawn a comic. Drawn something. Told a story. No matter how dull or flawed it is.
Attempting this challenge illustrates there really is no excuse. If I can do this – anyone can. Want to write that story? Draw that comic? Form that band? Do it. Of course a job gets in the way. Of course life gets in the way. But find the time. Develop the habit. It is genuinely fun (even when it isn’t) and worthwhile.
hundred days – day 49

Listening to a lot of Silver Mt. Zion this evening.
I started drawing this page and looked up at my desk to see a pot of unused blue ink staring back at me. So I grabbed a brush and a worn out dip pen and decided to try it out. The results aren’t great – I’ve not used an actual brush in years (preferring to use increasingly expensive and hard to find brush pens) and it shows. But it was nice to have a bit of a play considering this pledge was about doing exactly that.
It works a lot better on the page than it does on screen. Promise.

It was great to meet everyone tonight at the Hundred Days social. I’ve had a bad couple of days with Crohns so ended up doing this rather than a more positive and detailed comic than I’d hoped. Hoping to get back on track after some rest this weekend.

Adam is the very talented artist behind The Everyday which is well worth your time. He also deserves better than this.
I fear I’ve left out far too much of the context behind these comments to make any sense. I blame a long evening leading to slightly rushed page.
