pen club sketches

Posted in news, sketchbook by ventedspleen on October 1st, 2007
A mixed bag of sketches where I’ve been trying to break out of my self-imposed monochromatic prison. Most of these were drawn at ‘Pen Club’ - a weekly event which is exactly as twee as it sounds. A few of us meet at a bar in the evening and draw, drink and chat all night. It’s a fun way of forcing yourself to draw regularly and try out new styles that you may not have attempted elsewhere. It’s an idea I ‘borrowed’ from Steve Wilson - a great illustrator I met in Toronto at TCAF.

They look gorgeous all together. You’re obviously having fun with this, and they look great for that. As in my portrait, I am a bit green at your penmanship… (good joke this oh yes)
