The Eagle awards are calling for votes and nominations at the moment. I usually stay clear of all this, predominantly because I’m quite aware of how small my chances of getting nominated, let alone winning, are. This year however, I’ve decided to welcome bitter disappointment and painful, ego-deflating setbacks with open arms. There really is little chance of getting anywhere with this, but there’s a tiny possibility it might get some more interest in the comic…
So… if you’re bored, why not go here and nominate HOW TO DATE A GIRL IN 10 DAYS as your Favourite black and white comicbook (British). If you’re feeling particularly generous, you could also nominate the website in some of the various web-based categories there.
Thanks for any support.
EDIT - It would now seem that enough of you have voted for me in 2 categories for the comic to appear in the drop down menu. Vote for How to date a Girl in the Favourite black and white comicbook (British) and Favourite web-based comic sections and I may spare you some spiteful vitriol. Love me! Validate me! Etc. Etc.
how to date a girl (pages 17 and 18)
The epic love letter to twenty-something self-involvement continues its relentless march towards an inevitably unsatisfying conclusion…

sketchbook (normandie)
Just a few of the better (read: not absolutely shocking) sketches I did during a brief sojourn in Normandie for New Year. Typically, I’ve probably chosen the more boring moments to document but it’s always easier to draw people who aren’t moving all that much.

sketchbook
As usual, a mixed bag of random sketches. I tend to draw people on the tube when I’m busy and don’t have the opportunity to go to life drawing. This time, however, was more an effort to prepare for a new comic that takes place on the Underground (more on this soon). Everyone I draw is either asleep or reading because… well… because I’m a sleazy little coward who’s terrified someone will see me…

group exhibition
Those of you who wanted to see my Making a Virture of Disappointment show but couldn’t make it (yes, all three of you) are in luck… I’ll be exhibiting in a group show at Flaxon Ptootch (see here for their website) which has a private view next week:

Bizarrely, I have my own show and private view at Flaxon Ptootch on March 8th with my very own choice of bands and djs playing (more details to come) but have been asked to be involved in this too. I’m not sure why. I’m very confused. What year is this? Who are you? Go away, I’m tired.
So come along to one or the other. This show lasts until February 8th, and my solo show will be there until early April so if you can’t make it to a private view there’ll be plenty of opportunities to point and laugh at my creative output.
